INTERNSHIP 2009

Applications are now being accepted for the 2009 summer internship at Central Connecticut Co-Op.  Founded in 1938, the Central Connecticut Cooperative Farmers Association has grown significantly over the years to offer a full line of feeds and commodities for all types of livestock, poultry, equine and other companion animals.  Our high quality feed is available by 50 lb. bags or in bulk depending on the size and needs of each farm.

The Central Connecticut Cooperative Farmers Association also provides nutritional and management consulting, which includes customized feed programs for all animal species.  We use state of the art scientific technology to customize feed programs specifically for your needs and we will provide customized feeds for orders as small as 1.5 tons.  Our quality feed and superior nutrition programs will directly impact the performance and output of livestock, poultry, equine and other animals.

CCC Feeds offers students a unique opportunity to experience animal nutrition, sales and quality assurance as it relates to many facets of the agricultural industry in Connecticut.  While with us the intern is expected to perform the following tasks:

·        Work directly with all of CCC Feeds staff

·        Hold a valid drivers license

·        Develop a professional relationship with current customers

·        Generate new customers

·        Correctly obtain forage samples

·        Interpret forage analysis results

·        Uphold all quality assurance practices

·        Gain the knowledge to make nutritional recommendations to producers

·        Develop new marketing strategies

During the internship, the staff at CCC Feeds will have the opportunity to interact with the student and observe their work habit and communication skills.  The student will become familiar with the sales and marketing responsibilities of the CT agricultural industry.   The team at CCC Feeds will provide an encouraging atmosphere where cooperatively we will see students succeed in New England Agricultural.  A cover letter and resume should be sent to:
