Sales Representative

Overall responsibility: 

   The sales representative will market and sell the Cooperative’s products and services to the livestock and poultry industry in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and Rhode Island.  Special emphasis placed developing marketing opportunities for specialty feeds for horses, beef cattle, sheep, and goats.

 Detailed responsibilities: 

v          Implementing approved business marketing and sales strategies and plans: Developing and implementing sales activities that are aligned with the Cooperative’s mission statement and strategies. Present new marketing and sale opportunities. Seek and develop business partners that enhance the business and financial opportunities for the Cooperative.  

 

v          Provide services to existing customers which would include:

    -     Analyzing and interpreting forage assay results   

-          Ration balancing and formulation

-          Product development

-          Feed and management recommendations to enhance productivity and profitability

-          Follow-up on issues regarding orders, delivery, and feed quality as required 

 

v          Communicate verbally and in writing important issues relating to the sales territory to company management on a weekly basis.  This would include competitor activities, crop and forage conditions,  and other pertinent information.

 

 v       Enforce company credit policy; monitor accounts receivables, alert company management of potential credit  problems, and assist in collection of accounts receivables.  Goal to maintain 80% current with AR aging.

 v      Identify and acquire new accounts and members for the Company.

 v      Within the assigned area of responsibility represent Central Connecticut Cooperative at relevant agricultural and livestock shows, seminars, events, and organizational meetings to promote the Cooperative’s position on key issues plus network with other industry participants.

 v      Actively participate in a continuing program of personal development relating to animal nutrition, livestock management, and sales techniques

     This position reports to the General Manager. A farm background is required. A degree in an agricultural discipline is recommended, but not required.  Familiarity with forage analysis and ration balancing required.  Please forward your resume to ddomina@cccfeeds.com.
